Xenology — The Fenerator (Class III)

The Fenerator is the best-documented species in this registry, because the Fenerator documents itself. It trades in the open. It honours its contracts — every clause, every time, to the letter. In sixty-five years of contact it has never fired first, never smuggled, never defaulted, and never once needed to.

Physical record: heavy-framed quadrupedal-brachiating physiology, methane-tolerant, long-lived — individual Factors have been continuously present at the same exchange for the full span of contact. Physically unremarkable in the way of things that do not need to fight. The body is not the threat and never was.

The threat is the model

• Generation one: the gift-price. The Factor sells below any human competitor's cost — fuel, alloys, hull time, credit itself. Margins for human traders on the same route collapse. The Factor absorbs losses with reserves no human house can match, for longer than any human house can survive.
• Generation two: the ownership. What failed in generation one is bought in generation two — routes, yards, licences, debts — lawfully, at fair market rates, from sellers the gift-price ruined. The Factor never forecloses early. It waits for the price to be a mercy.
• Generation three: the terms. With the route owned end to end, the price recovers — never gouging, always a shade under what re-entry would cost a human competitor. The arithmetic is calibrated to be permanently not-quite-worth-fighting.
• The instrument is the compact. Fenerator contract language is flawless, human-drafted-seeming, and constructed around dependencies that mature decades after signature. The assessment stands: the compact is to the Fenerator what the drop-ship is to the Vorax — the delivery vehicle of the species' entire strategic intent.

Value flows one way. Across every audited Fenerator relationship, human economic sovereignty degrades at a constant, patient, contractually irreproachable rate. No audited relationship has ever reversed.

The Fenerator does not infiltrate — that is the Silk's road — and does not fight, which is the Tide's. It purchases, and its purchasing has three doctrinally significant properties:

• Legality. Every acquisition is lawful under the commercial frameworks of the acquired. The Fenerator's first study of any human community is its contract law, and its mastery of that law exceeds the community's own.
• Patience. The model's clock runs in generations. Human institutions discount at human lifespans; the Factor does not. This asymmetry, not price, is the core weapon.
• Amiability. Documented Fenerator conduct is courteous, reliable, and generous in small things. Frontier communities like their Factors. The doctrine notes this without irony: the liking is a line item. It was priced in.

The Fenerator has no extermination fleet. It has never needed one. What it holds, it was given — signed, witnessed, and legal.

• 21-08-1961 — The Meridian Shallows fuel compact. First contact; compact honoured to the letter; the route is human-held today only by Republic counter-trade.
• 1961–1998 — The Shallows consolidation. Fourteen human trading houses extinct by gift-price; routes acquired at mercy-prices in the second generation.
• 09-02-1998 — The Republic Interdiction of the Corridor Exchanges. Fenerator commerce excluded from Republic territory; licensed third-party exchanges established beyond the line.
• 2004–2026 — The counter-trade era. Republic-flagged carriage and Republic-built capacity substituted on interdicted routes; the Factor's presence at the licensed exchanges constant, correct, and waiting.

Posture is fixed by the classification system: restriction and counter-trade. Commercial contact monitored, logged, and throttled.

• No Fenerator commerce inside Republic territory. The 1998 Interdiction stands. Contact occurs only at licensed third-party exchanges beyond the line, under quota, under log.
• No Republic signature on a Fenerator compact. Republic organs and sworn Citizens do not sign. Where frontier necessity compels an exchange, it is spot-settled, quota-bound, and closed the same day — no term, no credit, no dependency. The compact is the weapon; the Republic does not hold the weapon by the blade.
• Counter-trade is the standing answer. Where the Factor's price cannot be matched, the Republic pays its own higher price as a defence expenditure and enters it in the books as one. Sovereignty is bought at a premium or sold at a discount. The Republic buys.
• The human hand that signs anyway — the trader who flags out, the registrar who licenses around the quota — is examined. Not every bad contract is heresy. A pattern of them, in the Factor's favour, at sovereignty's cost, has been.

The Fenerator's polity — whether the Factors at the exchanges are a species, a company, a caste, or the only members of it anyone has met. What the acquired value ultimately funds. Whether the model has an end-state, and what the Fenerator's ledgers say a human system is worth at maturity. Whether it has ever bought anything from the Silk, or sold anything to anyone the Republic has not yet met.

The Factor, asked such questions across sixty-five years of courteous contact, has answered every one the same way: with an offer.

The Fenerator is discussed without hatred and without comfort. It is not the Tide, and the doctrine does not pretend it is — but equivalence-language (“honest traders”, “fair partners”) is a Class III error with a Cultural Heresy shadow, because the record shows exactly what the fairness is for.

State the model, state the arithmetic, state the posture. The Factor's courtesy is a documented fact. So is the direction of every audited ledger.

• Physical nature — heavy-framed quadrupedal-brachiating; methane-tolerant; long-lived; physically unremarkable. The body is not the threat.
• Scale — large but non-combatant; individual Factors persist at one exchange across the full span of contact.
• Silhouette — heavy quadruped-brachiator at a trade bench; unhurried; the least threatening posture in the registry.
• Integument — thick hide, methane-world adapted; trade-harness and ledger-apparatus.
• Locked palette — muted earthen hide; the brass-and-paper of a licensed frontier exchange.
• Visual anchors — the trade bench, not the battlefield: courteous, reliable, waiting; the flawless compact; the same Factor present at one exchange for decades; value flowing one way across every audited ledger.
• Distinguishing marks — none combatant. Individuality is expressed in ledgers, not bodies.

• No sympathetic interiority. Never “the good alien”.
• Never a caricature villain, and never a friend.
